Meet the team
Bethwins Estate & Garden management is exceptionally proud of its long standing team. The talents and qualifications amongst our team range from landscapers, horticultural experts, arborists, electricians, mechanics and designers.
Our clients benefit from the familiarity of our team (due to our very low turn over of staff), the expertise they possess and also from the courtesy and politeness that the teams show when working within their gardens- for which we are continually praised.
Mark founded Bethwins Estate & Garden Management in 2000 and has built a strong reputation based on in-depth expertise, hard work and attention to detail.
Mark’s passion for horticulture began at the tender age of eleven years old when he tended to gardens to earn pocket money. Mark went on to train in horticulture and now runs Bethwins Estate and Garden Management from his farm in Chiddingfold, Surrey where he lives with his wife and four children
Paul Barrett– Garden Designer and Landscape Construction Manager
Our garden design branch is under the direction of Paul, with over 20 years experience in the horticulture industry and with some very high profile and celebrity clients under his belt, Paul can direct your garden transformation with his own hands from the earliest design stages right to the actual construction and completion of the design. Paul is a rarity in the gardening world in that not only did he train in Garden Design at The English Gardening School, Chelsea, he also qualified in Landscape Construction at Merrist Wood College in Surrey. What makes Paul so unique as a garden designer is that whilst creating his designs he knows the exact practicalities required in making them into a reality.
Darren Lewis – Tree Surgeon
Darren has worked for Bethwins for over 10 years. He qualified from Merrist Wood College in Tree Surgery over 5 years ago. Darren is passionate about arboriculture and believes in always attempting to save a tree before cutting it down. He is also a very keen wood sculptor.
John Bray – Garden Maintenance Manager
John has over 20 years extensive experience within private, listed and commercial estate and garden management. His strengths lie particularly in the re-designing and rejuvenating of gardens from all aspects of planning, planting and maintenance. For ten years he was Estate Manager at Aldworth House, Haslemere, built for the poet Lord Alfred Tennyson, which included 26 acres of formal gardens, woodlands, large ponds and water features, greenhouses and conservatories. John’s interests include golf, mountain biking and of course gardening!
Vicky Goodfellow & John Regula – The Office Team
Vicky and John assist Mark in the day to day running of the company. They are a point of contact for our clients to deal with any requests or queries that they may have. John is also a part of the maintenance team and in his spare time is a music producer. Vicky joined Bethwins in 2008 and has since had a daughter so her spare time is spent at home attempting to control her toddler and her mischievous pug.
